About

The office of kcs ARCHITECTS was founded by Katie Sutherland in 2014. Since that time, the office has designed projects including Keene Orthodontic Specialists (lobby pictured above), New Hampshire Public Radio Office Additions in Concord, Stingray Optics New Facility in Keene, Stonewall Farm Renovation Design Feasibility Study, Mayfair Farm’s New Event Barn, MoCo Arts New Arts Education Building in Keene, and the Addition to the Monadnock Food Co-op. The office is also involved with municipal projects in Swanzey and Washington, New Hampshire, and multiple residential and barn projects throughout New England.

Prior to forming her own practice, Katie had been Associate Architect at Scully/Architects in Keene, NH for twelve years, during which time she was the Project Architect for the Monadnock Food Co-op, Raynor Dental Offices, Sophia’s Hearth Family Center, and the Mason Elementary School, as well as many award-winning residential projects. Prior to coming to New Hampshire, Katie worked extensively in New York City, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Osaka, Japan, and brings a world view to her work. Katie holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University, is a LEED-Accredited Professional, and a member of NCARB. The office offers a range of architectural services to both public and private clients, designing projects big and small. Katie has won numerous design awards throughout her career, and specializes in thinking creatively and adaptively, architecturally responding to each project in its own right.
